Stories for Our Children

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

The other day, Beth discovered a new book I'm reading - Dr James Dobson's The New Strong-Willed Child - and made a beeline for it.

I wrestled it off her, saying she doesn't need to read it.

"But I want to. I have nothing to read," she protested. (Meaning, I've read all my library books and there is nothing else in the house of interest to read.)

"Why do you want to read it for? You're not a strong-willed child." A feeble attempt at reverse psychology from a mum caught off guard.

"Because I might have a strong-willed child next time."

Ha! It takes one to know one.
