English Made Easy

15 minutes before ABC Kids was to start, Beth plonked down 2 books in front of me.

"Mummy, can we do this?"

I stared vaguely at the titles. English Spelling Made Easy and English Handwriting Made Easy by Dorling Kindersley.

Horrors! We'd borrowed it from the library 2 weeks ago and I'd yet to get round to teaching Beth.

Arranging muddled-up alphabets was easy.

So too was arranging animals in order - with help.

Beth got the consonants, but teaching her vowels was something else. Will probably have to drill the a-e-i-o-u into her till she memorizes it.

12 minutes after 3, I announced the time and Beth was happy to head to the lounge for her daily dose of Bottletop Bill and his best friend Corkie, Peppa Pig and Play School.

What a relief. :p
