Future Life Coach
A few days ago, I received a letter from school inviting me to be a Class Carer.
It's a new project by the school to create stronger ties between teachers and parents and to foster a deeper sense of community and caring. Class Carers send encouragement cards, organize birthday celebrations for teachers, pray for families going through hard times, rally the class to support families in need, and act as a positive link between teacher and parents.
The only concerns I have are the time investment required and the fact that I don't like organizing events.
With workshops to facilitate, a book to write, seminars to attend, church commitments and family, I am already quite time poor.
And event management is not really my thing. I do it only because I have to.
So when my 7 yo asked me if I was going to take up the position, I gave her my honest answer: "yes and no".
Her response was astounding.
"What about it (the position) don't you like?"
Just like that, she went straight to the root and got me focusing on my specific objections.
I think it was the way she phrased it that was so impressive - it sounded just like the kind of question I would ask clients.
I think I'm raising a future life coach here.
