An Unexpected Honour

Miss 10 comes home excited about the Grade 5 school camp.

They are spending 3D2N in Sovereign Hill, Ballarat.

Me, I'm not so enthusiastic. I was all of a heap last year when she went away for her first ever school camp, and now it's one year later. Why must children go away at all?

Anyhow, the whole situation has taken on an unexpected twist.

Miss 10 has invited mummy to be a parent volunteer on the school camp. Gasp! Seriously? I get to go on the school bus with 40 11 year-olds, help supervise activities and be a part of the camp experience? Guess that means I'm not too uncool after all.

Miss 6 warns that I might not be accepted for the role because I can't run/cycle etc.

My bigger concern is that I'll miss hubby and Miss 6 (especially her) and the comfort of my home. Oh, and I'll miss Church Council meeting too. Gee, who'll take notes then?

ANZCA to AMEB

Have just registered J for AMEB Preliminary exam in July/August.

She's now working on her list pieces and scales.

I guess I kind of forgot it's already May and she only has two months plus to be exam-ready.

Her teacher is confident she'll be able to make it, and I choose to trust her judgment and J's determination.

Am listening to her practising C major RH.

The other day, I explained to her the fingering pattern of 3,4,4,3 for the RH and was amazed at how quickly she caught on.
