Student-Led Conference vs. Parent-Teacher Interview

From the school newsletter, something to look forward to at next week's Student-Led Conferences.

"Early next term we will be running Student Led Conferences i n conjunction with our Learning Journals across the College. Separate information will be sent home very soon, but we will be using an online booking system this year to help streamline the process, in particular helping out those of you with several students at the College. These conferences are a very valuable way of allowing your child the opportunity to take responsibility for their learning, have a captive audience with their teacher and parents at the same time, and help plan out some goals for the coming term."

I thought it was going to be a Parent-Teacher Interview like we had at HCC.

But Beth assures me she is going to be present during the SLC, unlike the PTI where she would hang out in a corner of the Resource Centre and read a book while waiting for me and her teacher to finish talking about her behind her back.

It will be interesting to hear and see how Beth presents herself.

And more so with Jordanne, who's only 5+ and a preppie. Would she know anything about her learning goals?
